BEFORE & AFTER : Project Kenwood

Here at Project Kenwood, I had the pleasure of designing a open-concept living an dining area of my client's newly renovated condo in the North Kenwood neighbor, just blocks away from President Obama's home.  I must admit, this space is arguably my favorite design to date! --I say this because I had already worked with this client before, so she already knew my ability and allowed me full creative control and another bonus was that the space was completely empty, who doesn't love a blank canvas?

My client wanted a space that was very modern, chic, fashion-forward and feminine with a hint of glam sprinkled on top. So we took elements from nature, luxury womenswear and juxtaposed those elements with vintage inspired furnishings and modern furnishings for a well-curated space.

These before photos were taken during the initial consultations, as you can see, my client’s possessions were boxed up. She was very adamate about not unpacking until her home was ready to be lived in (well until she hired me to design the main living space).

The entire living and dining space was flooded with natural light thanks most of the walls being lined with huge windows! During the initial consultation I knew I was going to incorporate sheer drapery for a very airy and romantic feel and my client was sold. By using the sheer drapery, I allowed nature outside the widows to become the perfect backdrop for the design since wall space for artwork was limited. I'm a huge fan of artwork but I'll take windows over walls any day!
